Old Growth Kitchen Table
The romance of design and craft has always captured me, especially when objects take on a particularly delicate form. Like a pressed flower, or a widely biodiverse old growth forest, the idea is to observe natural beauty without tarnishing its life. The application of a delicate form to furniture is quite the challenge.
The thinned and essentially hollow form of the kitchen table is almost a visual trick, though its durability is no joke. Its legs come from the same design as the Flowering Hall Table, which brings the tabletop height to a standard 30” with a 1” thick slab top. (96” x 36” x 30”)
