Conscious Craftsmanship

Furniture and objects crafted from locally-sourced hardwoods

Commitment to Excellence

I studied interior architecture and furniture design at the Milwaukee Institute of Arts and Design. During my time there I learned about how to design small scale interior spaces, and now as a professional furniture maker I use that knowledge to craft excellent, quality furniture.

I work with all Midwest sourced materials, mainly from Wisconsin and Illinois. I work very hard to select the right material for each project. I use wood as a beautiful and natural material while also highlighting the overall geometry of design. The key to creating an excellent wooden project is a balance of quality material and thoughtful design.

My approach to woodworking has always been sentimental as I was heavily influenced by the master woodworker George Nakashima and his book “The Soul of a Tree“. My job as a woodworker is to take this once living material and give it a new life as a beautiful object where it can be loved and cared for by many generations.

This world is so filled by the wasteful throwaway culture and as a craftsman I have to challenge that to the highest degree. Wooden furniture deserves to be made with love and care and to be used with great affection.
